The desire to be successful resides in every human being – who among us doesn’t want a taste of success?

Yet many people wonder why their experience is the opposite of what they desire and aspire to be. Freelance writing success only comes when you stay on the right track, follow the right route, and keep going in the direction of your destination.

These 7 quick tips will help increase your freelance writing productivity from today, and can rewrite your story for success:

1) Rise Early

Getting up as early as 4:30 am is good for your productivity. The reason for this is obvious; more energy and self-control is usually available to early risers, and they have more time to get important things done and set up their daily routines.

There is no better time than the wee hours to exercise, meditate, set goals, establish priorities, and explore opportunities – especially if you have your sights set on freelance writing success.

Wake up early to prepare for the day and stay on track throughout. You may also need to retire early as well. I enjoy the serenity of working in the early hours of the morning as a freelance writer.

Rising early affords me the opportunity to concentrate on tasks with fewer distractions. Initially it may be difficult for the body to adjust, but once a routine is established, it gets easier.

It’s worth experimenting with what works best for you. Track the times you work and identify the periods when you’re at your most productive. Speaking from personal experience, I get far more writing done in the early hours than at any other time of day.

2) Stay Optimistic

Every day is a gift – that’s why it’s called the present!  When you view each day as a unique opportunity, you’ll find it easy to stay optimistic throughout the day. As long as you’re still breathing, there’s hope for success! Pessimists find fault in everything – whether it’s within their control or not. But negativity and dwelling in the past doesn’t help. Leave the trials of the previous day behind you, and begin each morning full of optimism and success. You’ll be amazed at how much you get done!

3) Exercise Regularly

Successful people are productive because they incorporate exercise into their daily routine. If you want to go far in life, it’s essential that you take your health seriously and keep tabs on your exercise levels. Apart from helping you stay healthy and live longer, physical activity helps improve your mood, boost your brain power and generate ideas. To unlock the power of your mind and really push yourself toward success, there’s no substitute for a good exercise plan.

4) Explore Opportunities

Each day comes with its own set of challenges that must be faced, but I’ve learnt how to also explore the unique opportunities that come my way, and how to look for them. Where others see a challenge, you could be identifying a golden opportunity.

The best way to do this is to keep your mind on the bigger picture and not focus too much on the small details. While they are important, paying too much attention to smaller details can lead to a serious drop in motivation. Keep your momentum up and your motivation high by looking at a crisis or challenge from a different angle, and you’ll be sure to find an opportunity in there somewhere. Remember to expand your network and connect with others in your field as much as possible, as this will bring many more opportunities your way.

5) Establish Your Daily Priorities

To have a successful day, you must be able to establish priorities. Remember that you can’t solve every problem every day, so get a clear picture of what needs your attention, and what can wait for another day. Do this every morning, and you’ll learn to execute your most important tasks first. Successful people have a clear picture of what needs their immediate attention, and what can be easily delegated to others. When you take the time to establish your daily priorities, you set yourself on the track to success, and can achieve much more in a day.

6) Devote Time To Meditation

As a freelance writer, it’s important for me to be able to quiet my mind, and stay focussed on tasks when I need to get things done. This can be hard to balance with the hustle and bustle of daily life – and it’s why devoting time to meditation is incredibly important.

‘Quiet time’ is more than a place of revelation; it is a place of concentration and calm. Starting your day with some early morning meditation will boost your chances of a successful day, and help you stay in a confident yet relaxed frame of mind. There’s no harm in tuning up your daily routine with a little meditation; i can confidently say it works like waving a magic wand!

7. Set Goals Every Day

If you are not going anywhere, you will not get anywhere. Set daily goals for yourself if you want to be successful and boost your productivity – then work systematically and tirelessly to achieve them every day. What do you need to do each day to get from where you are now, to where you want to be? Break your plan down into daily goals, and then put in the effort to make those goals a reality.

Try incorporating these 7 quick tips into your life right away, and watch your freelance writing success take off and soar high like an eagle!
